The public is being reminded to be considerate towards the elephants currently in the city for the Dasara festivities. The elephants are preparing for the Jamboo Savaari procession during which they will travel a five-kilometre route across Mysuru, beginning at the palace and ending at Bannimantap grounds.

During rehearsals, the elephants are getting accustomed to common noises like those from vehicles, loudspeakers, firecrackers, and cannons. There are two acclimatization sessions daily in the morning and evening to help familiarize the elephants with the surroundings.

On weekends, more people gather to witness the procession led by the Howdah elephant, Abhimanyu, and take photos. It is important for the public to be mindful of their behavior to avoid causing any disruptions to the elephants until the end of the Dasara festivities.

Guidelines for viewing the Dasara elephants include respecting the mahouts and Kavadis, maintaining a safe distance, avoiding walking in front of the elephants, not taking pictures or videos directly in front of moving elephants, refraining from honking near them, giving flowers to mahouts instead of directly to the elephants, refraining from feeding the elephants, and not following them.

The Jamboo Savaari is a significant procession held on Vijayadashami, the final day of the Dasara festival, featuring elaborately adorned elephants, colorful floats, and various cultural performances.
